MEET MICHAEL CARY

Helping people regain, or possibly gain for the first time, control over their life is what I love doing. Whether in a one-on-one session, group setting, in person or virtual I love to see my clients experience hope, freedom from pain and suffering, and the light of peace in their life once more.

I received an associate of Bible degree from Texas Baptist Institute and Seminary in 2008 and went on to complete my bachelor’s in Human Services degree from LeTourneau Christian University in 2014. I am currently working to complete my master’s degree in psychology from LeTourneau University.

I earned my Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) in 2015 and have worked in various settings from locked down treatment facilities, nonprofit OSAR (outreach, screening, assessment, and referral) centers, and private practice.  While addiction abolishment counseling has been in the forefront of my career since 2015, I have expanded my outreach to include anger management, parenting skills, grief recovery, and life coaching to offer additional skills and help to those seeking freedom from pain due to loss in their life.

In addition to addiction counseling and life coaching I have been a licensed and ordained minister since 2007. I have taken part in various ministries from youth and family to pastoral leadership. I believe that both counseling and pastoral leadership are callings from God, and it has been a true blessing to minister to the needs of others and to help my clients and my community grow emotionally as well as spiritually.

I lost my father in 2019, my brother-in-law in 2017, experienced the loss of 24 of my church members in a 24-month period between 2015 to 2017, as well as experiencing finite losses throughout my life which I had never found completion until I found Grief Recovery Method (GRM). Going through GRM has given me the tools necessary to complete the grieving process. I am thankful for this program, and I look forward to sharing this knowledge with others who are experiencing unresolved grief.
